Be Healed!
Most of us have parts that we would like to heal. This process can take decades of effort and at times to no avail, especially when confronting painful memories of traumatic events or physical and emotional pain from chronic diseases or disorders. Throughout time, there have been efforts to heal physical and mental disorders by tapping into the subconscious mind and using trance, also referred to as the “theta state,” to effect change. German physician Franz Mesmer, whose efforts we are reminded of with the word “mesmerizing,” became famous in the 1800’s for using hypnosis techniques as a way to heal patients. For thousands of years, Shamans have used trance via intoxicants, drumming or sleep deprivation and exhaustion to enter realms where guides assist them to heal on behalf of the effected person. Clues from ancient hieroglyphs from Ancient Egypt reveal use of medicines and energy rods to heal cancer patients. Since the 1900’s, medicine and psychology have made important strides. There is a resurgence of utilizing healing herbs to treat disorders. It is clear, a major part of the human condition involves pain and suffering and also a universal effort to help people overcome both.
The spiritual approach to confronting the painful parts of life finds us at the point between the miserable parts of being a human and the beautiful parts, which include pleasure and happiness. This point between is where we can find peace of mind and balance. It is not a negation of either pleasure or pain. It is the place where we go to understand who we are in the bigger sense.
My efforts in the arena of “healing” focuses on the place where the subconscious and the conscious minds confront each other. I use methods where people can more easily let go and allow goodness to flow through them reminding them that have worth, that most of the time love is the answer and that peace of mind is possible. We deep dive into the subconscious, which has all of the qualities of water, actually more like a vast ocean. Blind in the murky waters but rewarded none the less, there can be found treasure at the ocean floor. Each answer is custom-made depending on where one is in her spiritual journey. It is in fact true, “Ask and you shall receive” and “knock and the door shall be opened unto you.” Universal goodness and wisdom, I find, is always willing. Themes that come up regularly include forgiveness, letting go, loving oneself and service to others. Purifying thoughts and intentions are crucial to penetrating the depths of universal and personal truth. This place of peace allows for us not only to integrate healing but also to properly balance the thresholds of our inner and outer worlds.
